Thank you Steve for that information. There are times I can open the same door and it will only click once and other times it clicks multiple times. I had always attributed that to the amount of pressure I was applying to the pad you referenced. Multiple clicks=applying a lot of pressure which wasn’t necessary. One, possibly two clicks meant in my mind that I was applying a light pressure which was sufficient to open the door.

Now, after reading your post it’s possible, perhaps even probable, the pad is wearing out or just needs to be cleaned and the degree of pressure applied really isn’t important. Again, thank you Steve.
