Fun with Friends

8/30/20

Hosted by David English from Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac

We meet at 9:30 AM at our

normal meeting place (see map below)

instead of PARADISE

leaving at 10:30 AM SHARP!

Paradise will be providing coffee and donuts.

The run will be 1 hour one way and No bathroom break

Taco Food Truck with a full menu, pay there.

Destination will be a park, set up for social distancing

with restrooms. There is shade and picnic tables

but you may want to bring a chair.

This is a non-sanctioned COTV event. You are encouraged to

follow all mandates, including face covering, social distancing and hand washing.

The COTV accepts no liability for this event.

We encourage everyone to use good judgment in all situations and remain safe.

We meet at 9:30 AM leaving at 10:00 AM SHARP!

As this is a Mystery Lunch Run the route and menu is a “MYSTERY”

The run will be 1 hour one way

and No bathroom break

We can’t do Del Mar this year

but we can do a picnic, so please bring your own lunch.

Bring paper towels, napkins, trash bag and something to drink.

There will be picnic tables but you may want to bring a chair.

If you want to, bring some games that can be played

in an outdoor setting, go for it.

Jim will have the NCCC Waiver form

which must be signed to attend the event.

Masks are required while meeting in the parking lot

and please keep 6 feet apart.

(Ready for Action!)

We gathered at the usual place and Wes took these pictures of the 31 cars and 48 people as we got ready for ‘The Freedom Run’ named by Bruce. He passed out menus and hand held flags, which was very patriotic after all he is a Veteran, so even more of a special event for him. It has been a long time since we had an MLR and everyone was excited for the ride and Italian food. Many people with masks but it looked more like a Halloween party then a Mystery Lunch Run. It was another beautiful day in paradise.

Bruce called everyone to order and explained the run, have a great time but keep up with the group. We went down 79 to the normal regrouping area then we continued to Rt 371 then to Cahuilla Casino for a bathroom break and for people to try their luck. As we left Cahuilla there were ambulances and a motorcycle accident, then we proceeded down the picturesque Rt 371 to Rt 74 where we made a left towards Idyllwild.

What a beautiful area, huge mountains, evergreens and horse paddocks, it was breathtaking. We continued at a good pace, thru the straights and turns then a right onto Rt 243, more fun turns.

We arrived at Ferro’s in Idyllwild, very nice set up, we had the whole patio area with separate tables and umbrellas, in addition, upscale outside bathrooms. A variety of Italian Food that was delicious and filling, normally we have dessert but didn’t have the room.

Everyone had a great day as we enjoyed the Freedom Run. Bruce always has fun and exciting runs, but this one may be hard to top. Nice job!
