Today was our first port of the trip and everyone had their own agenda. Before we caught the bus to Pier 39 we took pictures of someone riding a bicycle articulated both ends (in other words, both ends steered independently of each other). Some had signed up for excursions. The Glenores and the Nagles took a bus tour of the city. Doug and Marilyn said they saw stuff they had not seen before as when you are driving you can’t really be a tourist. Joe and Rosemary went on a boat and Joe got to drive – lucky him. The McIntoshes and Crooks went to Alcatraz. Harold and Donna went Christmas shopping. A number of folks either walked or took the free shuttle to Pier 39. Bill and Sandi, Don and Bev, and Vance and Susan took in the magic show there. Rob and Daryl bought everything Great Dane at the Bow Wow dog store.
Dinner was also a mix with groups at the dining rooms and 10 of us trying the new Curtis Stone restaurant, Share. The menu is somewhat more “adventurous” than found in the other dining venues and the Watsons, Glenores, Crowthers, Penn/Monsens and Webers enjoyed trying something different in a very attractive setting with great service from Loretto and Alynne.
