And we Had a Great Time!

Clear-Pro Customer Appreciation Day

.

April 22, 2017

.

This is a habit we could get used to – one of our sponsors having a Customer Appreciation Event and Open House for us! We always try to tell our sponsors how much we appreciate what they do for us by using their product or eating their food, but it is not often that they provide the food to tell us how much they appreciate our business as well. In the last two months, two of our sponsors have reversed the process by inviting us to their shops and providing the main course for a great lunch (DO WE LIKE TO EAT???) while we bring along some side dishes.

.

This was our second such event, put on by Lance and crew at Clear-Pro. There was even a demo of the application of the clear “bra” treatment on Jim Sommars’ car. No wonder he was enthused about this particular luncheon. He got to eat and have his car worked on at the same time.

.

We had 22 cars and 35 folks in attendance, with a late minute arrival by Rahul Bharadwal, who is a possible member prospect and arrived with a contribution to the table in hand. Although we had our usual group of singles in attendance, some wives (Fritzi and Carol) just joined us a little later. Curt Stevens brought his grandson, Ashton, instead of Darlena. We think that Ashton preferred the cookies to the crowd of oldies. Tom and Ruth Pierick, who joined at the last general meeting, came along for their first such event. Jerry and Sharon Hoover, who are friends of Bill and Sandi Steed, were there to see if we looked like a fun group to join. Norm Luckuck made one of his rare appearances. John Marsh came sans Mary Kino, who is working so hard she doesn’t have time for COTV fun right now. Mary, we hope to see you soon! Ted Venn made his second appearance in as many weeks. We have missed seeing you more often, Ted! We send along our best wishes to Terry Isenberg, who is still not up to par, although Chuck says she has to get better before they leave for Italy.

.

Before lunch, Lance demonstrated the computer program that helps him cut the material exactly to fit any car, new or old, and applied some to the front end of Jim’s car for the interested crowd. Then, Jim announced that we could eat. Lance had marinated and grilled tons of chicken and this was supplemented by eleven, count that eleven, various potato salads, pasta salads, Cindy Hart’s broccoli salad, Betsy’s mac and cheese, and a variety of cookies, brownies, cakes and sweet finishes. There was plenty of water, although we were not too hot since we were inside the shop most of the time and out of the 95+ degree heat.

.

We want to give Lance a huge thank-you for all his support over the years, his great work on a lot of our cars, his grilling skills and his generosity. Let’s all think about the Clear-Pro treatment for our cars, if we haven’t already. They deserve it!
